Ilog Hanggang Laot, which is english for "From the River to the Sea", was a poster artwork I made for Sikad PH's Palestinian-solidarity exhibit. Working on this was a huge honor. Artistically speaking, it was my first fully illustrated artwork. No collage, no scrapping, just digital brushes and font choices.
Historically speaking, Israel's ongoing genocide of Palestine is one of, if not the biggest stain in our generation. For years, even from childhood, we would always hear from the adults or remark ourselves that if the Holocaust were to happen again, they would intervene. "Never Again". We have proven ourselves otherwise. The US war machine profits off of this genocide, and Israel continues its bloodlust with heads turned away. The media has spent too long deciding on the proper words and terms to use to describe this destruction, when it is clear and barefaced.
What this has revealed is that the powers that be will use anything—political narrative, religious narrative, media, and biases—to retain their control. It has shown that at heart of hearts, these people and the systems they churn are sinister, and only care for God as long as He moves and acts according to their whims.
But when evil is most bare, so it should be clearer to everyone to wake up. To speak. And when necessary, to fight.
